Coro ANA Latina

This is the passion that has always driven us, ever since the melodies sung by the Pioneers who came to reclaim the Pontine Marshes echoed through our families: we are Coro A.N.A. Latina.
We were young in a young land, a wild marsh that had been turned into a splendid garden. We began to sing, until the call of our unforgotten roots, steeped in Alpine tradition, led us to form a single group which in 1993 became a vital part of the Latina Section of the A.N.A. (National Alpini Association).
Since then we have given countless concerts all over Italy and taken part in the leading national choral festivals, with international tours every year, including Denmark, Switzerland, Spain, Russia, Lithuania, Latvia, Romania, Austria, the Czech Republic, Catalonia and Slovakia.
In 2007 we were invited to the "Singing World" World Choir Festival in St Petersburg, broadcast by the main Russian TV channels, where, as the only Italian choir, we had the honour of singing alongside renowned choirs from all over the world.

To sing, to sing always, and above all to sing together

The Alpini choir of Latina
Wherever we sing, we present our own repertoire: classic traditional songs alongside new arrangements of folk music and original compositions. And wherever we go, we carry and promote the values and cultural traditions of the Agro Pontino.
In 2006 our choir won the Overall First Prize at the "T.I.M. Competition", a European-level International Music Tournament whose final round was held in Rome.
Two concerts in the Vatican in the presence of His Holiness Pope John Paul II were especially moving: the first in the Paul VI Audience Hall, the second in front of St Peter's Basilica.
Original songs such as "Mia Terra" and "9 Ottobre", together with the pieces of the unique "Messa Alpina" (Alpine Mass) composed by Maestro Francesco Milita, are now sung by many mountain choirs, who look to the Alpini of Latina as an example of passion, discipline and creativity.
The same passion leads us every autumn to organise the "Canti della Montagna" International Choral Festival in Latina for charity, hosting choirs from all over Italy and abroad.
Our artistic direction is entrusted to Roberto Stivali who, after several experiences as a choir director, found his way to our choir thanks to his passion, sensitivity and great artistic skill.
